Jack Haddox

Director of Dispensary Operations

Jack serves as General Manager of SWADE’s dispensaries—a role that is always changing and evolving. Currently, he oversees all five of SWADE’s dispensaries, managing everything from hiring and product procurement to dispensary layout and design. Jack has been passionate about helping people in different ways from a young age, originally pursuing Physical Therapy before changing his focus. In 2016, he completed his Master’s Degree at Missouri State University, before joining the Cannabis Industry in Michigan to help open nine dispensaries across the state. Now back in Missouri with new goals, he enjoys occupying a leadership role and setting an example for his team in the exciting nascent world of Missouri Cannabis.

Shannon Thompson

Shannon Stewart-Thompson

General Manager

Shannon sees her role as a General Manager as an opportunity to advocate for patients who can benefit from medical cannabis, in addition to creating a safe and service-oriented environment for all customers to experience. After receiving a BA in Communications (with a minor in Psychology), Shannon joined the United States Air Force, where she gained the majority of her professional experience. Her interest in education and advocacy began in earnest when she became the Community Educator and Patient Advocate for BeLeaf in 2016. Since that time, she has seen firsthand how cannabis use can empower patients to live a healthier, more balanced life. With the Cannabis industry in Missouri in its early stages, she is excited to bring her expertise and passion for education to the people, and continue to cultivate new ideas in the Cannabis space.

Laura “Lobo” Conley

General Manager

As General Manager of our Delmar location, Laura oversees daily operations as well as facilitating relationships with the community to provide a personal, authentic experience to all who are curious about medical cannabis. Her background in the Restaurant/Hospitality industry for 18 years informs her approach to customer-oriented care, as does her B.S. in Integrative Health from Arizona State University, where she first became interested in holistic and alternative health modalities. Drawing on both fields of experience—as well as a personal history with medical challenges that have added to her empathy—she is excited to use her knowledge to help guide patients to make informed, educated choices in their medical cannabis journey.

Connor Cervantes

General Manager

A recent graduate of the Masters of Business Administration program at Saint Louis University, Connor Cervantes began working in the medical cannabis field as a sales representative for Beleaf Life’s Oils in 2019. His enthusiasm for serving Missouri medical patients with high-quality cannabis offerings and superior service is self-evident, and he quickly distinguished himself at Beleaf, soon becoming the Assistant General Manager. Connor is tasked with overseeing daily operations at the dispensary and is committed to serving customers and community members with the highest level of care.

Mitch Meyers

CEO of Beleaf Medical
Sales/Marketing, Team Leader of SWADE

After years of building and marketing brands for Fortune 500 companies, Mitch Meyers’ career took an unexpected turn when she became fascinated with the medical cannabis community. In the twilight years of her career, she launched a new endeavor as the CEO of Beleaf Medical, using her vast experience creating sustainable company cultures and developing engaging brand identities to put Beleaf on the map. Mitch is a self-described “life-long learner” who has thrown herself whole-heartedly into this new industry and is driven by her passion to make plant medicine accessible to all.

Nicole Thompson

Director of Human Resources

As Director of Human Resources, Nicole is responsible for overseeing talent management, as well as all that goes into attracting the most qualified and enthusiastic team members to the company. Nicole comes to BeLeaf with 10 years’ experience in the HR field, having graduated from the University of Louisville with a B.S. in Organizational Leadership. While her day-to-day consists of duties from overseeing employee relations to managing compensation, benefits, and policies and fulfilling admin roles, Nicole is motivated by her belief that “if a company takes care of its employees, the employees will take care of the company.”

Ethan Payer

Director of Compliance

Ethan Payer began his career helping medical patients in the greater St. Louis area while working in pharmaceutical benefits management and pharmaceutical packaging supply chain logistics after graduating from the University of Missouri – St. Louis with a BS in Sociology. His desire to assist others and his love for the industry now translates into his role at Beleaf, where he oversees company compliance to DHSS laws and internal policies. Ethan was instrumental in implementing the “Seed-to-Sale” inventory tracking system used at Beleaf, as well as other crucial logistical processes. Ethan works closely with all departments to ensure Beleaf and its associated companies follow all applicable laws and policies, helping forge the way forward for this relatively young and exciting industry.

Jim Vigland

Controller

As BeLeaf’s Controller, Jim handles all the accounting and financial planning required on a day-to-day basis for the company. Jim comes to BeLeaf having received a B.S. in Accounting from Missouri State University, and he is not only a Certified Public Accountant, but also a Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist. In the relatively young industry of Missouri medical cannabis, Jim plays an essential role in helping BeLeaf grow.

Melissa Cowin

Director of Marketing

As Director of Marketing, Melissa Cowin is constantly uncovering creative and inspiring ways to change the conversation around the cannabis industry. Her background in the Tech industry and her significant marketing acumen—she holds a BSBA focused in International Business/Marketing and an MBA focused in Marketing/Marketing Management, as well as a Digital Marketing Certification from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis—equip her with a unique perspective on both traditional and digital strategies. She has driven consistent growth for Beleaf’s medical brands and has forged meaningful relationships throughout the community with Missouri Medical Cannabis Patients and Partners, with the goal to drive positive change both locally and nationally. Melissa leverages her insight, creativity and instinct every day to elevate the profile of Beleaf within the industry and help eliminate the stigma around cannabis use on a broader scale.

Kevin Riggs

Partner/President

With sixteen years of experience as the CEO and President of an engineering company, Kevin E. Riggs is another pillar of Beleaf who underwent a late-stage career shift to a new industry. Originally schooled in Mechanical Engineering, he has now served on the board of Beleaf Life’s Oils since 2016, and currently oversees corporate governance, business relationships, and DHSS communications for the company. Kevin is inspired by individuals on all sides of his Beleaf relationships, finding motivation both from customers and community members as well as from the rest of the Beleaf staff.
